Hampton started the year with a new team at the helm – Miss Hooker and Mrs Scannella. We launched our first fundraising event, the ‘Hampton Hundred’ in September, inviting students to walk, run or swim 100k by Christmas. Students were sponsored through ‘Just Giving’ to raise funds for the Woking and Sam Beare Hospice and we are awaiting our grand total at the end of this week when the event closes… In October we held the first ‘Hampton Hocus Pocus’ where students invited staff to a fundraising Halloween tea and last week we organised a Christmas Fun Run to further support our House charity. Our final event of 2016 was the Christmas Fair where the Hampton stalls were run fantastically by our Charity Captains Georgina and Kinga, along with their willing helpers. Our next ‘big event’ is entry to the Surrey Half Marathon – watch this space for how to enter!
Another highlight of the first term has been House Drama – the Hampton group performed brilliantly, devoting their time and effort to rehearsals and the final night’s performance. Although not the overall winners, we were the audience favourite and can certainly feel very proud of our drama team.
Miss Hooker has been promoting the importance of attendance through assemblies from the start of the year and attendance in Hampton has significantly improved – students have been rewarded for the effort in making these improvements and we hope to maintain above 95% attendance throughout the academic year.
We have also been busy collecting House points through lessons, sporting achievement, involvement in House events and the recent Winter Writing competition. We look forward to the ‘final reveal’ for the House point totals this term in our final assembly on Wednesday 21st December.
This week we have had a great start to the Inter-House sports competition with second place after day one. Hampton has some excellent Sports Captains who always organise enthusiastic and skilful teams for the events. Our record on Inter-House last year was excellent and we plan to repeat this in 2016-17!

Hampton House Vision
• A house that is successful
• A house that students and staff are proud to be part of
• A house where senior members lead and support junior ones
• A house in which the majority of students take an active role
Our house charity, the Sam Beare Hospice in Weybridge provides the highest quality care for those with advanced terminal illnesses and provides help and guidance for families and other carers. This local charity has affected many of the members of Hampton House and we are proud to support their work.
