Year 9 & 10 Immunisations

Year 9 & 10 Immunisations

Thursday 2nd March 2017

NHS

This is about the routine adolescent immunisations delivered in school to Year 9 and Year 10.

If your child falls into the age group due to be immunised, we would like to offer your child the chance to complete the national childhood immunisation schedule in school.

If required the following two vaccinations will be available for your child.

1. The final school booster; against diphtheria, tetanus and polio. This vaccination will complete the baby injections given pre-school.

2. Meningococcal ACWY against the four strains of meningitis known as ACWY. These diseases are known to affect older adolescents, especially if they go to university or training where they are living in accommodation with other young people.
